The Interreg Med Communities of Urban Transports, Renewable Energy and Efficient Building co-organise two online workshops on the energy transition of cities with a specific focus in Spain, on January 28 and February 4, 2021.
Cities and territories are currently facing the challenge of implementing energy transition and decarbonisation processes.
The management of this change in line with the national and European regulations is not an easy task and requires the involvement of several actors as well as the population and the civil society.
The online workshops aim at showcasing the tools and results achieved by the three Interreg MED Communities of projects and local communities, addressing the integration of energy issues, efficiency and sustainable mobility planning at local level.
The workshops will focus on the contributions of these projects in the policies proposed by the European Green Deal and the Sustainable Development Goals at the local level and the potential that the tools developed have in the application of the Action Plans for Sustainable Energy (PAESC) and of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMPS).
The events are organised by the Institut de Recerca de Catalunya (IREC), Spanish partner of the Efficient Building Community, Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA), Spanish partner of the Renewable Energy Community and the Mediterranean Cities Network (MedCities), Lead partner of the Urban Transports Community. They will be held in Spanish.
