REPLICATING URBAN MOBILITY SOLUTIONS IN MEDITERRANEAN CITIES

CATALOGUE OF SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY SOLUTIONS
The Urban Transports Community has published a selection of tools and solutions with the highest replicability potential in the MedUrbanTools platform (managed by MedCities).
These tools have been designed, implemented and tested by our community of territorial cooperation projects, funded in the framework of the Interreg MED Programme, gathering almost 200 partner organisations (public authorities, associations, mobility planners, universities and international organisations, amongst others) active in 12 European Countries. The Community has been addressing urban mobility under very different angles.
However, the most replicable and strategic tools we have identified falls under the following areas of intervention: data for smart traffic management; soft mobility; shared mobility; mobility in tourist destinations; and new planning approaches.

WHO IS WHO MAP
Who is who map of key actors, best practices and pilot activities in the frame of the Urban Transports Community, an Interreg MED Programme's initiative.
The Urban Transports Community is an Interreg MED Programme initiative launched in November 2016 and renewed in October 2019 until June 2022. The Community is promoting sustainable urban mobility planning in the Euro-Mediterranean region as an effective tool to reduce carbon emissions and improve the quality of life of the population and the environment.
Since November 2016, the Community featured by an horizontal project has gathered seven territorial cooperation projects co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and almost 120 organisations (public authorities, private companies, universities, NGOs and international organisations) from 12 Euro-Mediterranean countries. In this second phase the Community has the opportunity to bring the capitalisation process to the next level by providing local authorities with a tailor-made support to implement the replicable solutions developed and tested by our Community.
The Urban Transports Community is featured by a project led by MedCities (Barcelona, Spain), in partnership with UNIMED Mediterranean Universities Union (Rome, Italy), Area Science Park (Trieste, Italy), CODATU (Lyon, France), CIVINET CY-EL (Cyprus-Greece), POLIS, Cities and Regions for transport innovation (Brussels, Belgium), and Durres Municipality (Durres, Albania).
